What would you do if you were single, and in one
week you got dumped by the guy you were dating, came down with the flu
and then were fired? If you’re like me, you’d take those lemons that
life gave you and, instead of simply making lemonade, you’d plant an
entire lemon orchard!
My Lemon Orchard documents the first part of my
challenging, frustrating, but mostly humorous, personal journey towards
reclaiming my life. I began planting this part of My Lemon Orchard by
spending my 40th birthday in Paris and visiting sixteen countries and
Hawaii over the next twelve months. I learned to surf, floated with
jellyfish and over sharks, meditated with monks, and climbed a Mayan
Temple.
This is just the beginning!
During my year of travel I recalled multiple
humorous forgotten memories. Some of those life experiences have been
relayed in My Lemon Orchard Gets Fertilized to make the reader smile,
tickle their funny bone, and let them know that they are not alone in
the world if they have ever done anything boneheaded.
Coming Attractions ...
After an absence of 19 years, in January 2007, I
went back to school. After I have put this monumental life experience to
bed in December, 2008, in 2009, I’ll be publishing a book answering the
questions: “What does it take to survive this at the same time that
menopause is attacking?” and “Should I have my head examined for
attempting this?”
